PERFORMANCE GROWS
MARKET VIEW ANGOLA
Angola is on a dynamic growth path after years of recession and stagnation. The government is investing heavily in infrastructure, education and healthcare in order to improve the living conditions of the population. With the growing middle class and increasing urbanization, an attractive domestic market is developing. In addition, Angola has enormous potential for agriculture, with fertile soils, abundant water and a favorable climate.
OUR LOCATION IN MALANJE
The investment proposal envisages the implementation of a comprehensive forestry and agricultural concession in Malanje covering a total area of 16,000 hectares.
Malanje, located in the heart of Angola, was selected due to its numerous fallow areas, which are ideally suited for the development and expansion of agricultural and forestry projects due to the excellent climatic conditions and soil characteristics. The area therefore offers enormous potential for the development of sustainable timber and agricultural production in order to meet local demand, increase production and reduce dependence on expensive imports.
PLANNING
The project aims to improve food security, promote carbon sequestration and preserve biodiversity. The planned utilization includes a combination of fast, medium and slow growing tree species. The timber produced will be sold directly to local construction companies who will use it for construction purposes such as scaffolding and concrete formwork (no transportation required). After 8-10 years, small and medium-sized sawmills and wood panel manufacturers take over the main harvest of the wood from the plantation. In agriculture, mainly maize and soy are grown. The agricultural products produced are marketed locally or in neighboring regions via the Webcor Group, which generates continuous income.
ECOLOGICAL
IMPACT
Forestry
Reforestation through site-optimized mosaic planting of fast-growing tree species as well as medium and slow-growing species, which contributes significantly to improving ecological integrity and maximizing production output.
Compliance with and preservation of biodiversity corridors and riparian zones to protect and maintain water quality.
By protecting small isolated indigenous forests and targeted reforestation, a bioreserve of over 1,000 hectares is being created to strengthen the local ecosystem and ensure biodiversity.
AgricultureResource-conserving cultivation does not use harmful substances or genetically modified plants and uses sustainable irrigation from rivers (no groundwater).
Activities
- Satellite-based reforestation monitoring
- Soil analysis (eDNA-based) incl. biodiversity monitoring
- Precision agriculture with regard to irrigation & fertilizer application
