PERFORMANCE GROWS
MARKET VIEW ETHIOPIA
Ethiopia is on a dynamic growth path. The country has made impressive progress in recent years and is now considered one of the fastest growing economies in Africa. The government is investing heavily in infrastructure, education and healthcare in order to improve the living conditions of the population. With the growing middle class and increasing urbanization, an attractive domestic market is developing.

OUR LOCATION IN PINYUUDO
The concession is located in Pinyuudo, in western Ethiopia, within the state of Gambella, close to the border with South Sudan. In the federal state of Gambella, this region in the Anyuak tribal area is considered sovereign, reliable and stable. The area is characterized by a large amount of unused fallow land, which is ideally suited for the cultivation of agricultural and forestry products due to the climatic and soil conditions. The total area of the concession is 27,000 ha.
The Gilo River flows to the north of the site, guaranteeing an important source of water for irrigating fields. In the northern and eastern parts of the land, there are small indigenous forests that are to be protected in order to preserve biodiversity and the ecosystem. Overall, the region offers the best conditions for the development of sustainable agriculture and forestry in order to increase local production and reduce dependence on expensive imports.

PLANNING
The project aims to improve food security in Ethiopia and South Sudan, promote carbon sequestration and preserve biodiversity. The planned use includes a combination of fast, medium and slow-growing tree species. Corn and soybean are the main crops planned for agricultural cultivation. The production is to be sold and marketed primarily in Ethiopia and South Sudan, whereby long-term purchase agreements are to be concluded with potential buyers such as the World Food Program. Unfortunately, local food production is currently low, as many farmers use outdated methods on small plots of land. The proximity to South Sudan also offers sustainable exports due to low transportation costs.

ECOLOGICAL
IMPACT
Forestry
Reforestation through site-optimized mosaic planting of fast-growing tree species as well as medium and slow-growing species, which contributes significantly to improving ecological integrity and maximizing production output.
Compliance with and preservation of biodiversity corridors and riparian zones to protect and maintain water quality.
By protecting small isolated indigenous forests and targeted reforestation, a bioreserve of over 1,000 hectares is being created to strengthen the local ecosystem and ensure biodiversity.
AgricultureResource-conserving cultivation does not use harmful substances or genetically modified plants and uses sustainable irrigation from rivers (no groundwater).
Activities
